Inside Plugless Power™

The Plugless Power™ EVSE connects the on-board EV battery charger inductively to the electrical power source. The 100 year-old principle of electrical induction is the backbone of the nation’s electrical grid and the basis for the electrical transformer. Simply put, electrical current flowing into a primary source causes current to flow into a secondary source.  With the Plugless Power™ dual-component system, the current flows from one source to another without using a plug and a cord, enabling “hands-free” charging.

	a fixed Plugless Power station, including both a floor-mounted parking block and a separate control tower, is installed in the garage or in the equipped parking space

When the equipped vehicle pulls up to the parking space, the parking block automatically positions itself to align with the vehicle adapter and begins charging. No actual flow of electricity occurs between the vehicle adapter and the parking block, assuring complete safety regardless of the higher levels of charger voltage and current anticipated for upcoming EVs.
